Transliteration
Inna anzalnahu fee laylatialqadr
Sahih International
Indeed, We sent the Qur'an down during the Night of Decree.
Muhsin Khan
Verily! We have sent it (this Quran) down in the night of Al-Qadr (Decree)
Yusuf Ali
We have indeed revealed this (Message) in the Night of Power:
Dr. Ghali
Surely We sent it down on the Night of Determination;
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
Lo! We revealed it, that is, the Qur’?n, in its entirety, [sending it down] from the Preserved Tablet to the heaven of this world, on the Night of Ordainment, that is, [the Night] of great eminence.

Wama adraka ma laylatualqadr
Sahih International
And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree?
Muhsin Khan
And what will make you know what the night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is?
Yusuf Ali
And what will explain to thee what the night of power is?
Dr. Ghali
And what makes you realize what the Night of Determination is?
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
And what will show you, [what] will make known to you, O Muhammad (s), what the Night of Ordainment is? — [intended] to emphasise its great status and to provoke marvel at it.
97:3

Transliteration
Laylatu alqadri khayrun min alfi shahr
Sahih International
The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.
Muhsin Khan
The night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is better than a thousand months (i.e. worshipping Allah in that night is better than worshipping Him a thousand months, (i.e. 83 years and 4 months).
Yusuf Ali
The Night of Power is better than a thousand months.
Dr. Ghali
The Night of Determination is more charitable (i.e., better) than a thousand months.
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
The Night of Ordainment is better than a thousand months, in which there is no Night of Ordainment, for a righteous deed on that Night is better than one [performed] for a thousand months without it.

Transliteration
Tanazzalu almala-ikatu warroohufeeha bi-ithni rabbihim min kulli amr
Sahih International
The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.
Muhsin Khan
Therein descend the angels and the Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] by Allah's Permission with all Decrees,
Yusuf Ali
Therein come down the angels and the Spirit by Allah's permission, on every errand:
Dr. Ghali
The Angels and the Spirit keep coming down therein, by the permission of their Lord, with (Literally: from) every Command.
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
The angels and the Spirit, namely, Gabriel, descend (tanazzalu: one of the two original t?’ letters [of tatanazzalu] has been omitted) in it, on that night, by the leave of their Lord, by His command, with every command, that God has decreed from that year to the following one (min is causative functioning as bi, ‘with’).

Transliteration
Salamun hiya hatta matlaAAialfajr
Sahih International
Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.
Muhsin Khan
Peace! (All that night, there is Peace and Goodness from Allah to His believing slaves) until the appearance of dawn.
Yusuf Ali
Peace!...This until the rise of morn!
Dr. Ghali
Peace it is, till the rising of the dawn.
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
It is peaceful (sal?mun hiya: a predicate preceding the subject) until the rising of the dawn (read matla‘ or matli‘), until the time it rises: it is peaceful because of the numerous salutations [of peace] (sal?m) spoken in it by the angels, who, every time they come across a believing man or believing woman, bid him peace.
