Sahih International
Nor did those who were given the Scripture become divided until after there had come to them clear evidence.
Muhsin Khan
And the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) differed not until after there came to them clear evidence. (i.e. Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever was revealed to him).
Yusuf Ali
Nor did the People of the Book make schisms, until after there came to them Clear Evidence.
Dr. Ghali
And in no way did the ones to whom the Book was brought (become) disunited, except ever after the Supreme Evidence came up to them.
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
And those who were given the Scripture did not become divided, regarding belief in him [the Prophet] (s), except after the clear proof had come to them, namely, the Prophet (s) — or the Qur’?n which he brought as his miracle. Before his (s) arrival they had all agreed to believe in him when he would come; then those who disbelieved in him from among them became envious of him.

Sahih International
And they were not commanded except to worship Allah , [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and to give zakah. And that is the correct religion.
Muhsin Khan
And they were commanded not, but that they should worship Allah, and worship none but Him Alone (abstaining from ascribing partners to Him), and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) and give Zakat: and that is the right religion.
Yusuf Ali
And they have been commanded no more than this: To worship Allah, offering Him sincere devotion, being true (in faith); to establish regular prayer; and to practise regular charity; and that is the Religion Right and Straight.
Dr. Ghali
And in no way were they commanded anything except to worship Allah, making the religion His faithfully (and) unswerving, and to keep up prayer, and bring the Zakat; (i.e., pay the poor-dues) and that is the Religion most upright.
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
And they were only commanded, in their Scripture, the Torah and the Gospel, to worship God (ill? li-ya‘bud? means ill? an ya‘bud?, an having been omitted and the l?m added) devoting religion purely to Him, [free] of any idolatry, as han?fs, upright in [following] the religion of Abraham and the religion of Muhammad (s), when he would come — so how is it that they disbelieved in him?, and to establish prayer and pay the alms. That is the upright religion, the upright creed.

Yusuf Ali
Those who reject (Truth), among the People of the Book and among the Polytheists, will be in Hell-Fire, to dwell therein (for aye). They are the worst of creatures.
Dr. Ghali
Surely (the ones) who have disbelieved among the population of the Book (Or: family of the Book; i.e., the Jews and Christians) and the associators (Those who associate others with Allah) will be in the Fire of Hell, eternally (abiding) therein; those are they who are the most evil beings (Literally: Initiated creatures).
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
Truly the disbelievers from among the People of the Scripture and the idolaters shall be in the fire of Hell, to abide therein (kh?lid?na: an implied circumstantial qualifier, in other words, it will be decreed for them by God, exalted be He, to abide therein) — those are the worst of creatures.

Their reward with Allah will be gardens of perpetual residence beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever, Allah being pleased with them and they with Him. That is for whoever has feared his Lord.
Muhsin Khan
Their reward with their Lord is 'Adn (Eden) Paradise (Gardens of Eternity), underneath which rivers flow, they will abide therein forever, Allah Well-Pleased with them, and they with Him. That is for him who fears his Lord.
Yusuf Ali
Their reward is with Allah: Gardens of Eternity, beneath which rivers flow; they will dwell therein for ever; Allah well pleased with them, and they with Him: all this for such as fear their Lord and Cherisher.
Dr. Ghali
Their recompense is with their Lord: Gardens of Adn (Eden) from beneath which rivers run, eternally (abiding) therein forever. Allah is satisfied with them, and they are satisfied with Him. That is for him who is apprehensive of his Lord.
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
Their reward with their Lord will be Gardens of Eden, as a residence, underneath which rivers flow, wherein they shall abide forever. God is pleased with them, because of [their] obedience of Him, and they are pleased with Him, because of His reward. That is [the reward] for him who fears his Lord, [for him] who fears His punishment and hence desists from disobeying Him, exalted be He.
