Muhsin Khan Verily, this Quran narrates to the Children of Israel most of that about which they differ. Yusuf Ali Verily this Qur'an doth explain to the Children of Israel most of the matters in which they disagree. Dr. Ghali Surely this Qur'an an narrates to the Seeds (Or: sons) of IsraeÉîl Israel) most of that concerning which they differ; | | 27:77 | Transliteration Wa-innahu lahudan warahmatunlilmu/mineen Sahih International And indeed, it is guidance and mercy for the believers. Muhsin Khan And truly, it (this Quran) is a guide and a mercy to the believers. Yusuf Ali And it certainly is a Guide and a Mercy to those who believe. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Knowing. Muhsin Khan Verily, your Lord will decide between them (various sects) by His Judgement. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing. Yusuf Ali Verily thy Lord will decide between them by His Decree: and He is Exalted in Might, All-Knowing. Dr. Ghali Surely our Lord will decree between them by His Judgment; and He is The Ever-Mighty, The Ever-Knowing. | | 27:79 | Transliteration Fatawakkal AAala Allahi innakaAAala alhaqqi almubeen Sahih International So rely upon Allah ; indeed, you are upon the clear truth. Muhsin Khan Verily, you cannot make the dead to hear (i.e. benefit them and similarly the disbelievers), nor can you make the deaf to hear the call, when they flee, turning their backs. Yusuf Ali Truly thou canst not cause the dead to listen, nor canst thou cause the deaf to hear the call, (especially) when they turn back in retreat. Dr. Ghali Surely you will not make the dead to hear, nor will you make the deaf to hear the call when they turn away, withdrawing. | | 27:81 | Transliteration Wama anta bihadee alAAumyiAAan dalalatihim in tusmiAAu illa manyu/minu bi-ayatina fahum muslimoon Sahih International And you cannot guide the blind away from their error. Yusuf Ali Nor canst thou be a guide to the blind, (to prevent them) from straying: only those wilt thou get to listen who believe in Our Signs, and they will bow in Islam. Dr. Ghali And in no way will you ever guide the blind out of their errancy; decidedly you will make none to hear except the ones who believe in Our signs, (and) so they become Muslims (i.e., they surrender to Allah). | | 27:82 | Transliteration Wa-itha waqaAAa alqawlu AAalayhimakhrajna lahum dabbatan mina al-arditukallimuhum anna annasa kanoo bi-ayatinala yooqinoon Sahih International And when the word befalls them, We will bring forth for them a creature from the earth speaking to them, [saying] that the people were, of Our verses, not certain [in faith]. Yusuf Ali And when the Word is fulfilled against them (the unjust), we shall produce from the earth a beast to (face) them: He will speak to them, for that mankind did not believe with assurance in Our Signs. Yusuf Ali Until, when they come (before the Judgment-seat), (Allah) will say: "Did ye reject My Signs, though ye comprehended them not in knowledge, or what was it ye did?" Muhsin Khan And (remember) the Day on which the Trumpet will be blown and all who are in the heavens and all who are on the earth, will be terrified except him whom Allah will (exempt). And all shall come to Him humbled. Yusuf Ali And the Day that the Trumpet will be sounded - then will be smitten with terror those who are in the heavens, and those who are on earth, except such as Allah will please (to exempt): and all shall come to His (Presence) as beings conscious of their lowliness. Dr. Ghali And on the Day the Trumpet will be blown, then alarmed is whoever is in the heavens and whoever is in the earth, excepting whomever Allah decides (to exempt), and every one will come up to Him, all (utterly) abject. | | 27:88 | Transliteration Watara aljibala tahsabuhajamidatan wahiya tamurru marra assahabi sunAAaAllahi allathee atqana kulla shay-in innahukhabeerun bima tafAAaloon Sahih International And you see the mountains, thinking them rigid, while they will pass as the passing of clouds. He is Well-Acquainted with what you do. Yusuf Ali Thou seest the mountains and thinkest them firmly fixed: but they shall pass away as the clouds pass away: (such is) the artistry of Allah, who disposes of all things in perfect order: for he is well acquainted with all that ye do.
