And indeed (their destruction) is clearly apparent to you from their (ruined) dwellings. Shaitan (Satan) made their deeds fair-seeming to them, and turned them away from the (Right) Path, though they were intelligent. Yusuf Ali (Remember also) the 'Ad and the Thamud (people): clearly will appear to you from (the traces) of their buildings (their fate): the Evil One made their deeds alluring to them, and kept them back from the Path, though they were gifted with intelligence and skill. Dr. Ghali And Aad and Thamud-and (their fate) is already evident to you from their dwellings. Yusuf Ali (Remember also) Qarun, Pharaoh, and Haman: there came to them Moses with Clear Signs, but they behaved with insolence on the earth; yet they could not overreach (Us). Dr. Ghali And Qarun (Aaron) and Firaawn (Pharaoh) and Haman- and indeed Musa (Moses) already came to them with the supreme evidence (s), yet they waxed proud in the land, and in no way were they forerunners (i.e., they were not the first people to disbelieve). | | 29:40 | Transliteration Fakullan akhathna bithanbihifaminhum man arsalna AAalayhi hasiban waminhum manakhathat-hu assayhatu waminhum mankhasafna bihi al-arda waminhum man aghraqnawama kana Allahu liyathlimahumwalakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoon Sahih International So each We seized for his sin; and among them were those upon whom We sent a storm of stones, and among them were those who were seized by the blast [from the sky], and among them were those whom We caused the earth to swallow, and among them were those whom We drowned.
